I don't think we should lower our expectations for their behavior. I think that in a situation where we don't see them doing something right very often, we need to find things they're doing well and congratulate them for that. I think all of us who have been teaching for a few years at least know that there are days when not a single student follows the directions the entire time. In those instances, that's where you lower your expectations not for the student behavior but for "what am I going to compliment?" Liz, I guess it wasn’t quite clear.
