Unfortunately the school district didn’t believe in its students or its teachers. They are laying off over 1,000 staff about 1/2 are teachers because they mismanaged their budget several years running. Now the students will be in even more over crowded classrooms.

@Kimberly, I just heard about that news. That’s horrible. Hopefully things get straightened out. But I can’t imagine what those teachers are going through this weekend!

I was just so inspired by the presentation that kid made, and was reading the comments others made. How sad that the school has just laid off so many teachers and staffers. Kids need all the support they can get from the school system, especially now that so many parents are now forced to be working full time, leaving so many kids alone for much of the day.
