Joel Wagner (<strong><a href="http://www.twitter.com/sywtt">@sywtt</a></strong>) began teaching band in 2002. Though he had a lot of information, his classes were out of control. He found himself tired, frustrated, disrespected by students, lonely, and on the brink of quitting. He had had enough. He resigned from his school district right before spring break of his second year and made it his personal mission to learn to be a great teacher. <strong><a href="http://www.soyouwanttoteach.com/">So You Want To Teach?</a></strong> is the ongoing story of that quest for educational excellence.

  1. Who’s to say that filing your bills is a better use of your time than catching up on your Google reader? Which is the more ‘pointless’ task, sweeping your floor or connecting with friends you care about?

Sounds to me like you’re not behind at all. :-)

  2. I would like to do the same with my mobile (cell)but data plans in Australia are a bit pricey. Android should make the whole process easier though because I use google for a lot of stuff. I am hanging for one an android phone!

  3. Waski, I guess part of it comes from really not doing much these days besides school, church, mariachi, and blogging.

If you knew how much time I wasted just checking Twitter and Facebook instead of washing dishes or replying to comments or whatever, you’d be ashamed of me! :)
