Priceless.

Congratulations! Goals are great, but goals with a method by which to reach them? Priceless.<br

Getting started is the hardest part for sure so now that you've overcome that obstacle there's so much you can do! Eventually, once you're up for it, I would suggest googling for some C25K podcasts; I know there are some out there from some DJs who put together a downloadable track that goes along with the plan, all with varying BPMs.

Congrats!! Joan: I found a lot of inspiration on Facebook. I posted status updates about my runs (and then RunKeeper posted them for me). A lot of my running and non-running friends posted encouragements and things like "I wish I could do that" and those kinds of things. I also joined a few running-oriented fan pages (C25K, Active.com, etc.) and they post links, quotes, and discussions that help as well. The one thing that I found that helps the most is simply to NOT QUIT.
Atticus: I know we've been following the same path for a while. Kinda fun...
Kristen: Keep it up! Yesterday I went and played golf and walked 9 holes for the first time instead of riding in a cart. It wore me out. But when I got home, I wanted to go run anyway. I just couldn't, so I walked a mile instead. Totally not the me who was me a year ago!

Thank all of you for your comments.

Joan: I found a lot of inspiration on Facebook. Good luck with your next one!

Congrats on your 5k! We must be on a similar wave length because I am in the middle of an article on running myself. I am nowhere near as far along the fitness path as yourself but I can see a lot of my experiences mirrored in your article. Thanks for the inspiring read :)

Mate, Excellent article! We must be on a similar wave length because I am in the middle of an article on running myself.
