Admitting that you are wrong is a sign of strength, not weakness. As a teacher, you will earn much more respect from the students if you do not pretend to be right all the time.
Such is the case with my blog earlier this week.
I read a post on another blog Monday evening and completely misunderstood the point of it. I assumed that the author was seeking help instead of simply looking for encouragement. I offered unnecessary help. I took it off the website the next day.
Unfortunately, the article that I wrote in response was sent out to nearly 50 blog subscribers before I had a chance to reflect on it.
I came across as being harsh and judgmental. I intended merely to be helpful, but it came across otherwise, it possibly could have even been perceived as slanderous. I’m sorry.
