Hello! I'm a frequent reader and this is my first comment on your site. I read your blog to gain better insight on how to be the best teacher ever! I really like the way that the site is organized and the site truly lives up to its mantra: education for educators.

Hey everyone, Joel would like your feedback. He's a really nice guy, and he really cares about teaching. So would you please be so kind?

I think we all have two types of readers. Bloggers and non-bloggers. Other bloggers tend to comment while the non-bloggers do not. The bloggers are trying to make the blog a social experience while the non-blogger is seeking information and wants anonymity.

Non-bloggers let me know if I'm wrong ;)

Good Luck, Joel!

You can get free user behavior-tracking, including heatmap analysis, from www.crazyegg.com. It's awesome - it gives you a visual representation of how users behave on your site. You'll identify 'hot' and 'cold' spots on your layout, etc. It's a tool I wish I'd made use of long ago.

It takes about 1,000 visitors to get enough data to make solid conclusions, but it's the closest thing you can get to being able to look over a reader's shoulder.
