The Hunt For The Missing Carnival

sywtt2009Turns out I’m not the only teacher out there who gets so busy teaching that he overlooks his blog somewhat. Perhaps you can relate. Oh, I’m sure you can! It happens to us all. We get bogged down with so many things in our life that the unimportant things shift to the back. Hopefully.

Sometimes if we’re not careful, we let the important things shift to the back-burner. That’s an altogether different problem there…

But now that I have a new design for my blog (that is growing on me more and more each day, by the way), I am inspired to get things really running on all cylinders. Or at least one a few more.

So I got a completely unsolicited guest article submitted to me today, dropped it on the blog, and was going to submit it to be featured in tomorrow’s Carnival of Education. But ya know what? I can’t seem to figure out what’s going on with C of E this year.

I’ve seen a few editions out there, but it has been a bit sketchy. I looked at The Education Wonks blog and found it hasn’t been updated in two months. A few comments, but no new blog posts. So I wanted to solicit a request for information from my readers out there. Anybody know what’s up? Do they need help? It appears they have the Carnival scheduled through tomorrow, but that’s it. Any clues?

Oh yeah, remember those student teachers? The ones who must feel like I’ve abandoned them? I haven’t forgotten about them. Hopefully everything is going well for you guys! I’ll get around to posting about your stuff again soon too. Keep your eyes out! :)

Joel Wagner (@sywtt) began teaching band in 2002. Though he had a lot of information, his classes were out of control. He found himself tired, frustrated, disrespected by students, lonely, and on the brink of quitting. He had had enough. He resigned from his school district right before spring break of his second year and made it his personal mission to learn to be a great teacher. So You Want To Teach? is the ongoing story of that quest for educational excellence.

  1. The Carnival was delayed one week and that opened a can a worms as it seems to come late every week since then. It has still been happening though once a week.

  2. It’s just been LATE the last few times, period. But this week it came out on time! hurray!

BlogCarnival has a page that lists who’s hosting. You can see who’s signed up for it next and browse past issues.
