07-08: A Year In Review

538127_spiral_bound_notebook_1As the school year comes to a close, and before the summer gets into full swing, I am reviewing the 2007-2008 school year in my mind. This review is broken into three articles

  1. What Worked Well
  2. What Didn’t Work Well
  3. What To Change Next Year

At the end of July, I will revisit these and come up with some plans to ensure that things run more smoothly in the 2008-2009 school year.

I did this last year also. Go read 06-07: A Year In Review here.

Joel Wagner (@sywtt) began teaching band in 2002. Though he had a lot of information, his classes were out of control. He found himself tired, frustrated, disrespected by students, lonely, and on the brink of quitting. He had had enough. He resigned from his school district right before spring break of his second year and made it his personal mission to learn to be a great teacher. So You Want To Teach? is the ongoing story of that quest for educational excellence.
